Uvira: the GISARO MUHOZA Foundation ensures that no woman is forgotten

Because solidarity does not end when a distribution is over, the GISARO MUHOZA Foundation organised a new handover of food supplies for women from various communities in the town of Uvira who had been unable to receive their assistance during the previous operation.

During that first distribution, acts of disorder had unfortunately disrupted the smooth running of the activity. Taking advantage of the confusion, some people had seized food supplies that were not intended for them, leaving several women to go home empty-handed.

For the GISARO MUHOZA Foundation, this situation could not be the final chapter of this act of solidarity.

On learning what had happened, its president, Béatrice GISARO, immediately decided to provide new food supplies so that every beneficiary originally registered could receive what was rightfully hers. Although not physically present at this new distribution, she was determined that no woman should be penalised by the actions of a few individuals.

For solidarity only has meaning when it truly reaches those for whom it is intended.

Emotions ran high among the beneficiaries. The women expressed their deep gratitude to the GISARO MUHOZA Foundation for refusing to let them be forgotten. Beyond the foodstuffs, they saw in this gesture a mark of consideration, respect and humanity at a time when many families remain weakened by the crisis affecting South Kivu.

Through this initiative, the GISARO MUHOZA Foundation reaffirms a conviction that guides each of its actions: vulnerability knows no ethnicity, no community and no political affiliation. When a hand reaches out to lift up a person in need, the whole of society grows.

Bringing people together is not a slogan. It is a choice. And making sure that no one is left behind is one of its finest expressions.
