How We Started
The Gisaro Muhoza Foundation (FGM Asbl) is a public-interest institution established to promote solidarity, community development and the improvement of the living conditions of vulnerable populations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- 2020 founded in Kinshasa
- 8 milestones since then
- 11 areas of work
Founded on 16 March 2020
Since it was founded, the foundation has pursued the following goals in particular:
Supporting marginalised and vulnerable groups and improving their living conditions
Promoting the education and training of disadvantaged children and young people
Establishing and managing schools and vocational training centres
Combating violence against women and girls
Improving access to healthcare and health services
Promoting food security through agricultural, pastoral and fishing initiatives
Providing humanitarian and social assistance to populations in difficulty
In order to perpetuate the memory, values and vision of the Honourable Isaac Frédéric Gisaro Muhoza, the Gisaro Muhoza Foundation was established in Kinshasa on 16 March 2020 as a work of remembrance, community engagement and hope for present and future generations.
The Foundation draws its inspiration directly from the exceptional life of this Congolese statesman, who devoted his life to serving the people, promoting education and peaceful coexistence, and developing communities without distinction of origin, tribe or social status.
Recognised as a unifying figure, Isaac Frédéric Gisaro Muhoza firmly believed that unity, solidarity and education were the essential pillars of social progress. His commitment to students, vulnerable families, young people and the communities of South Kivu left a lasting mark that continues to inspire several generations.
The Gisaro Muhoza Foundation was thus born of the desire to preserve this historical and moral legacy, but also to turn its ideals into concrete action in the service of society. Through its humanitarian, social, educational, agricultural and community initiatives, it seeks to pursue the vision championed by Isaac Frédéric Gisaro Muhoza: to build a society founded on human dignity, peace, social cohesion and community empowerment.
